Certification & Association
Our guides and operations are held to the standards of Nepal's recognized trekking and mountaineering bodies - here's what each credential actually means.
Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA)
NMA is the body authorized by the Government of Nepal to issue climbing permits for trekking peaks and regulate mountaineering standards across the country. Our NMA standing means our trekking-peak climbs (Island Peak, Mera Peak, and similar) are permitted, tracked, and run to the safety and conduct standards the association sets for member operators.
Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN)
TAAN is Nepal's official trade association for trekking and expedition agencies, representing operators to the government and enforcing a code of conduct around fair pricing, guide welfare, and traveler safety. Membership means we're a recognized, accountable operator within Nepal's formal trekking industry - not an unregistered freelance outfit.
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB)
NTB is the official government tourism authority responsible for promoting and regulating tourism in Nepal. Being registered with NTB confirms we operate as a legally recognized tourism business in the country, subject to its oversight - not just a website taking bookings.
IFMGA Mountain Guides (IFMGA)
The International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations is the highest globally recognized qualification for mountain and ski guides, requiring years of technical training across rock, ice, and alpine terrain. When one of our senior expedition guides holds IFMGA certification, it means they've met an internationally audited technical standard - not just local route familiarity.
Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
Wilderness First Responder is a medical certification specifically built for remote environments, where professional help can be hours or days away. Guides who hold WFR training are equipped to assess and stabilize injuries, altitude illness, and other medical emergencies on the trail until evacuation is possible.
Leave No Trace (LNT)
Leave No Trace is an internationally adopted set of outdoor ethics principles focused on minimizing human impact on wild places - proper waste disposal, respecting wildlife, and leaving campsites as they were found. We build these principles into how every one of our camping treks is run, not just as a policy statement.
TripAdvisor (Verified Reviews)
Unlike the credentials above, TripAdvisor isn't a regulatory certification - it's an independent, traveler-reviewed platform. We include it here because it's a public, unfiltered record of past trekkers' actual experiences with us, verifiable by anyone considering booking.
